Back in 2010, Arnoud Snepvangers was working on patents at Delft University of Technology. There he met Hans Brassé of Eaglet Optronics and the two innovators founded Eaglet Eye. They bought the assets and IP for an eye topographer, invented by Dr. Frans Jongsma of the University of Maastricht.
This was indeed a marriage made in heaven. Arnoud and Hans successfully combined their talents in the fields of engineering, technology, ophthalmology and finance.
Before long, they saw the clinical and commercial potential of a topographer that profiled, not just the cornea, but the sclera too. And so was born the Eye Surface Profiler – or ESP – the world’s most advanced and accurate corneal sclera topographer.
